Ever since the first day I made my own first bread, and it came out really nice I stopped going out every time to purchase it because I know the contents of my own and I don’t really like artificial preservative in my bread so I baked my own and finish it that very day and sometimes I do keep it till the next day and it will still taste yummy.
Some people love to bake bread for their family but they don’t know how to go about it and some don’t have mixer but the great news is that you can use your hand to do the work and you will still have a satisfying taste.

They all taste good but on this topic we are going to be learning how to make homemade bread.
Its is simple and easy to make, it’s soft and fluffy.
Ingredients required to make home made bread.
- 7 cups of bread flour or all purpose flour
- ½ cup of granulated sugar
- 2½ cups of water
- 3table soon of active yeast can also use instant yeast
- ½ cup of vegetable oil or Olive oil
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- I medium egg
- 3 tablespoon of powdered milk
- 3 tablespoon of butter
Stage 1: Proof your yeast
Some yeast can spoil your work but this process will help you to know whether your yeast is good to use or not.
The process take up to 5 minutes. This process need warm water and not use hot water in order not to kill your yeast add warm water with your yeast and mix in a small bowl do not stay for a very long time stare it for like 10 seconds and cover it for 5 minutes.
After covering for 5 minutes you will noticed that the yeast puff on the surface. But if you can’t see any puff on the surface, abort the mission of making the homemade bread till you get better yeast.
Stage 2: add all the dry ingredients
Now add your sugar, salt, milk and Sieve your flour to avoid lumps. Mix all the dry ingredients together and set aside
Stage 3: Add dry and wet ingredients together
Add your yeast, vegetable oil, egg and together add your dry ingredients mix it together with your clean hands and if you have electric mixer you can use it because it makes your work faster. Mix it well till it combines and form a tick dough.
Stage 4: Time to knead your dough
Scoop your dough from the bowl and place on a clean surface, can use your chopping board as well. Rub some butter on your dough and knead with your hand and this process should take 8 to 10 minutes. Knead till your dough is well Incorporated.
Stage 5: Let your dough raise
After kneading, take a clean bowl and rub with some oil put your smooth bread dough inside rub some oil or butter on the door and cover it with your kitchen towel or with a plastic wrap.
Place your cover dough in a warm area in your house. Leave it and let it rise for 40 minutes.

Stage 6: Shaping your dough.
Now that the dough has doubled in size punch some air out of it. Take the dough out and put it back on a smooth surface, knead it for a few seconds and divide the dough into 3 parts.
Shape your dough and roll it into the regular bread shape to have a desire shape, take out some foil paper and cover the inside of your baking tray with it. Rub some butter on it and place the dough in it giving it enough space.
Place your home made bread beside your already set oven to rise for 30 minutes.
Stage 7: Bake the dough
Heat your oven and bake the bread for 35 to 40 minutes.
After it has been baked take it out from the oven and allow your loaf to cool for 5 minutes, remove the loaves of bread from the tray

When kneading your dough, don’t over work it.
Do not use hot water to prove your yeast because it can kill the yeast.
After kneading it the surface should be smooth and and have fine texture. Always use warm water.
If you do not have bread flour can use all purpose flour and it will still come out nice
If you are using instant yeast there is no need to prove it Just add it directly to your dry ingredients when combining it but if it is active yeast, proof it before you start making the it to avoid disappointment. You can find how to prove yeast on the first stage.
Both instant yeast and active yeast work well so feel free to use any of the two.
If you have bread pan use it for your baking but incase you don’t have you can use your baking tray and your bread will still come out very well.
Your dough need warm environment to raise.
